Various Artists – Endangered Species Vol. 1

Creative direction and full package design with illustration for Endangered Species Vol. 1, a compilation of rare ‘80s italo disco, synth and wave tracks from around the world released on Dark Entries Records. Designed with a series look in mind, the tiger was chosen as the endangered animal to represent Volume 1, that other animals could replace for future volumes. An iconic ‘80s dancing character was also created that could vary across a series. The central globe icon doubles as a disco ball holding together bold and handdrawn ‘80s-inspired patterns, retro graphics and typography that decorate the rest of the package in clashing tiger orange and deep purple to convey the fun and energetic music meant for the dancefloor.
