Connect the Thoughts

I authored, designed and illustrated this conceptual, portable journal that encourages all types of expression, and lessens the intimidation of filling blank pages, published by Chronicle Books. It is meant to be used by kids or adults, for both drawing and writing. Each page has a grid of 9 dots printed on graph paper that can be connected and formed into different spaces for different thoughts. Short, quirky prompts are provided for 10 topics. Because the journal can be used non-linearly, it is especially helpful for users more inclined to record quicker, random thoughts alongside complex ones. Bold and bright color palettes and illustrations help distinguish each topic and keep the journaling process inspired and fun. The cover also shows examples of how the grids can be filled in endless ways.
