Quallop Card Game

Quallop was an original game concept that came to Chronicle Books from Forrest-Pruzan Creative, with a packaging idea to fold everything up into a travel-sized box. The shape of the pieces was a distinctive feature that inspired the rest of the design. I designed and illustrated the packaging to look fun and accessible to kids, but contemporary and stylish for adults too. The kraft paper-styled background helps neutralize this look for both audiences. Coming up with the jovial "Quallop" name and branding was also a challenging process to stand out in a saturated games market. It won awards from Communication Arts and Graphic Design USA magazines.
